Prasadani Kumari is one of Sri Lanka’s leading contemporary voices in visual art, Prasadani Kumari brings together technical finesse, emotional nuance, and a deep sense of personal evolution. Though her early years gave little hint of what was to come, it was teachers who first recognised her quiet talent — a turning point that shaped the course of her life.

She went on to study at the University of Visual and Performing Arts, completing both undergraduate and master’s level training. Alongside her academic journey, Prasadani refined her skills at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts and drew creative energy from poetry — a second discipline that continues to shape the rhythm and symbolism of her work. Favouring acrylic and oil on canvas, her paintings explore memory, emotion, and the layered complexities of lived experience. Her style is fluid yet deliberate — each piece a meditation in colour and feeling. Now a full-time professional artist, she has held two solo exhibitions — Pulse (2022) and Mirror Mirror (2023) — and her work has appeared in both local and international exhibitions, including the Paris International Art Fair in 2023. Her artistic journey is ongoing — a continued act of translation between the inner world and the canvas.
